Postnatal Exercise

Exercising after giving birth is so important for regaining your health and fitness. It has a massive impact on your mental wellbeing too. Exercise also gives you some time to have a break from doing all things mum.

It is important to wait until you have had your 6-week postnatal check-up by your doctor. You should be given the all clear to start more strenuous exercise before you do. That being said, you don’t just have to sit on the sofa for 6 weeks. You can start by going for very slow gentle walks if you feel comfortable enough too do so and it doesn’t cause any pain. Moving as soon as you can will help your recovery after birth. It will also get your little one outside for those bits of fresh air!
